Bed and Breakfast Chambres d`hotes France

Our bed and breakfast, Chambres d'hotes Castel Rouge France, is situated amidst the vineyards of the Lot, in the south of France in the Midi-Pyrenees. The apartments and rooms are in a building, detached from the owners house.

Located in the peaceful hamlet Castel Rouge, it is only a five minute stroll to the small town of Luzech. Luzech has a bar/restaurant, bakery, small supermarket and a weekly Wednesday market offering local produce and delicacies. From the rooms and the terraces you have a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, the vineyards and the old tower of Luzech.

All the apartments and rooms have a private entrance and their own terrace.

The medieval city of Cahors is only 15 minutes by car. Twice a week people from all over the region come to Cahors for its market which was voted one of the best in France.

There are numerous walks and trails in the surrounding area, ranging from easy to challenging. All are easily accessible from our bed and breakfast. The Camino de Compostella route passes right through our area. (Via Pondiensis).

There are also a lot of cycling routes through the surrounding countryside. There are beaches along the The Lot River (5 minutes) where one can swim and enjoy the sun. In Luzech there is also a large outdoor swimming pool.

Or take a boat on the river Lot and see the fascinating scenery from the water !

The famous sites of St. Cirq-Lapopie and Rocamadour and the caves of Pech-Merle and Padirac are all only a very pleasant drive of maximum 45 minutes away via a beautiful touristic route.

The cities Figeac and Sarlat-La Canéda are also within easy reach.

You can enjoy the famous “black wines” of Cahors in one of the many chateaux in the area. The wines are made from the Malbec grape, the oldest wine in France.
